Day Off

Things are fun.
I think the anemia is over with remembering to take the multi-vitamin and taking the iron supplement and some sub lingual B has boosted my energy level and gotten rid of the sudden extreme fatigue spells I was having. Yeah!
Been working out I am so addicted to it! I hope I am able to continue with the personal trainer. There is something so fun about working out with him. Though last time he had me working the abdominal muscles quite a bit and boy did I feel it the next couple of days. It hurt to cough or laugh too much. Not a bad hurt mind you but still. I definitely loved one of the apparatus's he had me on will use it again on my own.
Went to see the Steve Miller concert on Saturday. It was a fun night. Joe Cocker opened and basically sucked the girl he had singing "Love lift us up" with him RUINED the song. But the sax player had really nice arms and piano player was awesome! But then if I were in my 70s and still able to do what he does after the hard living life he has had...I guess he didn't totally suck but wasn't my favorite. Steve Miller was much better. At one point he brought this kid out on stage with him and man! Can the kid play! Very impressive! He couldn't have been more than 14-15 years old and he was good. I had a lot fun. It was good to go out and do something different for a change. I haven't been to a "real" concert in years. I have been to the Rodeo and seen concerts there but not the same. To go to a concert that is "just" a concert nothing else drawing you there was nice. Definitely want to do that again.
I am now off to clean out and wash my car. It is in desperate need. I am embarrassed every time I give someone a ride. Maybe later I will play my new obsession...adventure quest...rolls eyes! I went on it last night cause CP is always talking about it and wanted to check it out to have reference for it and now...thanks CP I am addicted to it! Gonna be a nice relaxing day off, maybe hit the movies later. There are three out I want to see... Iron Man, Indiana Jones and Narnia

Happy Mothers Day

Ok so I lied again! I almost always do that...post once and say I'll be back to post something more like pictures or a particular story and then I disappear for days! Not sure why that seems to happen but this time it is because I have just been a busy beaver. Even though the only envent at work this weekend was today for Mothers Day ( more on later in this post) my weekend was still long and busy. Had a dance Friday night it was a lot of fun and yet still the same lame thing as always. I guess I have fun because I make it fun for me try to keep my attitude in check and just do what I went there to do...DANCE! The DJ did a pretty good job, you could tell he was a club playing DJ in that he played sets of 6 or 7 songs. At our dances it tends to work better to do 3-4 song sets and to give the illusion of more variety. But he played good songs and I danced enough to have horrible hair by the time I left. You know sweaty and all over the place hair. Of course with the way I have to wear my hair for work (pulled back in pony tail with a base ball cap on) I long ago gave up on good hair days. LOL. If it wasn't ( should that be weren't?) for church and Thursdays I would probably forget how to do my hair. Then saturday night spent some time after work with some friends hanging out and watching PS I love you on pay- per-view. Awesome horrible movie. Saw a lot of movies this week. Went to see Made of Honor at the theatre ( hilarious movie I loved it enough to go see it twice with two different friends) rented from red box 27 dresses another good movie one I wanted to see when it was out but never got around to. Wow three chick flicks in one week! Need some action adventure in my life maybe Iron Man soon? or the new Indiana Jones flick? The Dark Knight is coming out soon too...hmm several action possibilities out there. Anyone wanna go with me?
Also had another session with my personal trainer/torturer that was fun! More fun than it felt the next day! I felt like I had been rode hard and put up wet for a couple of days there but man oh man! was it fun! Something about the resistance training I just can't do as well by myself as I can with a trainer. Cardio no problem but the resistance I guess I am just resistant to. I have such a terrible time with balance. I wobble all over the place. What was the toy...? webble? they wobble but they dont fall over! I fell nearly completely over but caught myself barely during our session. imade the comment that i need to work on balance and he said we are! oh. duh.
Work has been fun as always. there is something about my job that it is hard to describe and one would think I was a little nuts ( ok so maybe you all know that already...!) with how trying would sound but here goes! There is a true sense of team work of taking care of each other helping each other out while there is a hierarchy in the kitchen it is known but not flaunted. I mean Cayenne Pepper is definitly the boss, the CHEF and it is HIS kitchen but, at least from my point of view, he isn't unfair or weirdly demanding. He is consistant, he corrects when needed but praises when warrented as well. If you listen and correct the things he needs changed all is well if not..well any good manager has to take more action then and he does. Filet Mignon is an awesome guy to work with. He is willing to teach ( is teaching me things in Spanish! Things like I take out the trash or I clean the floor mostly those because that is what I ask for) concerned and just a good guy. I do miss t-bone and need to come up with nick names for the other three. But at any rate I have fun feel valued and really am enjoying work. Today being Mother's Day we had a special buffet that was supposed to see me as waffle girl but I had to put away my hat and cape and return to dish girl baseball cap and plastic apron as a replacement for dish girl couldn't be found. All weekend Cayenn Pepper has been teasing me that he knew something I didn't or had the golden ticket or golden surprise driving me batty! He was enjoying himself with this knowledge and tease. Today he finally let me know. he arranged for me to get a $50 gift card from Outback Steak House which in his little speech today he said was because I do my job well take out the trash clean the floors and all so the kitchen is clean so when the health department came last time we got 100% no violations! I appriciate the praise and the pat on the back but it really is a team effort. I could not do my job half as well with out the help they all give me. I mean there are days like today that I just can't even leave the dishwasher long enough to look at the trash much less take it out and they do it for me. Or when things just go nutso right at the moment I am doing the floors so they help out with catching a dish or two while I finsh up floors. Or when things have just been whacked out with party prep and such that they drag the mats and actually sweep and/or mop the chef side of the kitchen. By the same token I hope they know that if they need me to do something and I can I will. I know Cayenne Pepper does he puts me to all kinds of other tasks when I am dish free and they could use help. I have done things from peeling fungus and shaping patties ( crab and hamburger), to recently stuffing potato skins with yummy fillings. Any way I LOVE my job! Probably mostly because of the people I get to work with no not mostly entirely because of them. They are great people. Pictures next time.
I hope all the mom's out here had a great day!

Personal Trainer

Well, Wednesday I had my first session with the personal trainer. Most of it was paperwork and measurements and such but he did introduce me to a new form of TORTURE! The eliptical machine. That thing is awesome and it is pure torture! I love it! Absolutly LOVE it! Something about being able to feel your muscles working and about sweating, really sweating that just gets me excited and wanting to do more. Guess that's why I like to walk in the heat of summer? Of course my legs especially my calves are screaming at me when ever I stop for very long and then try to move again. SO I just keep moving as much as I can during the day. This morning I more shuffled than walked for the first half hour or so, and I am sure sitting here doing this blogging thing and visiting others blogs is gonna make standing up torture in a few minutes. Next time we do resistance training! YIKES! Talk about pain! I am looking forward to it greatly. To know how to use the weight machine properly and have a routine to get by abs and arms in better shape is gonna be great.
