work changes

Changes are happening at work...there are, as always, rumors flying about about hours being cut but this time is about the hours of operation being cut not personnel hours. The latest is that we will start closing the kitchen at 5pm but they said that would start happening in 2-3 weeks and that was about 2-3 weeks ago so...plus and this is not rumor the fitness center is going to be opening next week hopefully that will bring a few more people in and starting in April we will open for dinner on Saturday nights. A REAL dinner menu good high quality dinner food. We have started having a breakfast menu on the weekends that is taking off nicely on Sundays. Saturdays have been a bit slower but picking up I think. We also got a new menu this week.
Then in general things seem to have picked up a bit overall. Last night we had 12 top come in around 6pm. That was fun! We were warned about them they called around 4 and made a reservation. By 6 it was down to me and FM so I got to help him out a bit. Was prepared to do some salad and sandwiches but they only ordered one side salad so I tried to help FM out on the hot side as much as I could. He got slammed! With all kinds of burgers, poboys, quesodillas, nachos, gumbo the flat top was full with standing room only on it! With the order not coming in till after 6:15 we were there till almost 8 cleaning up. During the week we seem to be having more people in for lunch could be the new menu making it seem that way or could be that they are coming to taste the new stuff i hope it keeps up though. the day goes much faster when we are busy. Tonight we have a plated dinner which are always fun. I get slammed with everything all at once but as long as I have someone to catch and put up the clean dishes I do alright. If I have to put up or at least get out of the racks and put somewhere the dishes things get a little bit more hairy but I still manage. I don't know that have have stated this recently but in case I haven't...I LOVE MY JOB!!!!
