trip hodge podge

My trip to Louisiana and Mississippi was too short but I loved every minute of it. I so needed to get away for a bit even if 14 or so hours of it was on the drive there and back. Actually one of the things I have always loved is a road trip but especially one that takes me over the Atchafalaya swamp freeway there is something so beautiful, romantic, scary, peace, and energizing about that 19 mile bridge over the swamp. one day I am going to figure out how to get a perfect picture to show what I mean. In Louisiana I was able to not only see my brother and sister in law but also my nephew, which is a rarity as he is off in graduate school and is rarely there when I am. My puppy got to go with me and really enjoyed her time with her "cousins" here are some pictures...
Lord of the Manor! My brother and all the pups!

I did not get any pictures of people in Mississippi I was too busy getting pictures of gravestones! I was pleased actually with the quality of those. I was able to find several graves I had found in a few years so got shots of them so I have the data I want to get started with some family history work I am doing. Besides the one I would have liked to get pictures of was in Arkansas oh well I will meet her one day soon I am sure. I got to visit with some of my mom's 1st cousins makes them what? my first cousin once removed? I know it makes their kids my second cousins. Both of these families lost their beach front home s in Gulfport during Katrina Both have moved to be off of beach but still there close to everything. and I got to visit with the grandmother of the little girl I would have gotten many pictures of had she not been gone. Let's see that makes her mom ( lemondrop) one of my oldest and dearest friends. ( Oh lemondrop I would use your other nickname from hs but it kind of includes your real name so...lemondrop it is).

Before leaving town I got the results back on the blood work my gp had done. My cholesterol is great, kidney, liver functions fine, thyroid normal however I am anemic! talk about being surprised! I had been hoping my cholesterol would be good it was the only one I was worried about had no idea I might even possibly be anemic. But it does explain a lot my fatigue for one. I was just writing it off to my working long hours and playing long as well but part of me was saying...you know you have always worked and played like this and NEVER been this kind of tired. So I am now very religiously taking my multivitamin and in search of an iron supplement that isn't too harsh on the stomach or too nasty tasting.

More later off to bed for now.

Good girl! I don't know how it fits in with your diet, but anemia means you need iron - molasses & raisins... a trick you can do too is eat dry cereal (not sugar stuff - the whole grain stuff) while drinking juice - the vit. C helps you absorb the iron.

Looks like u had a good time. :)
