Graveside

My Dad's graveside service was today. In Mississippi. It was short maybe 15 minutes but the gathering at my Mom's cousin's lasted much longer. As is always the case saw family there that I hadn't seen since the last funeral. Realised today that the last 3 times I havebeen to Mississippi I had been attending funerals. I really need to get to the coast and to my brothers more often than that. You can still see the affects of Hurricane Katrina all along the coast and throughout the Louisiana/Mississippi region. I am always amazed by the plant life devastation of Katrina, how the plants tell the story of the path that she took. The direction the toppled or topped trees fell, the height of the water lines, the trees dead because they were flooded with sea water all tell a portion of the story. I really begin to understand thesciences of archeology and geology a bit more because of this living lesson in them.
One of my best friends from high school and her mom came to the service and gathering afterwards. I was really happy to see them both there. I knew lemondrop ( sorry I always liked that one better than your other nickname) was going to be there but her mom was a total surprise. She is such a neat lady and I really do love both of them very much.
I have been using a digital camera that was my Dad's and as soon as I get a card reader for it I will be posting all sorts of pictures of all the cousines and such.
I have a nappointment with my doctor tomorrow. So will update anything from that by friday. I am driving to Texas and then back to Louisiana on Thursday so I will not guarrantee before friday.
