the last couple of days have been not the way I thought they were going to be. My Mom ended up in the ER on Wednesday and then being admitted to the hospital for observation. Some of her labs came back not good and had her GP concerned enough to send her to the ER at the ER they did a ctscan that came back with air in the abdominal cavity (where it shouldn't be) so they had her admitted under a surgeon and an internist for observation and investigation as to what was happening. On the plus side as each day goes by it becomes less likely she will need surgery for whatever it is that put the air in the abdominal cavity. So even though yesterday was Thanksgiving Day (or national pig out day 1) I didn't even get a piece of pie or a bite of turkey. Oh well all the better for me anyway. Maybe today I will manage to get some pumpkin pie. Something so tasty about a good pumpkin pie! Sweet potato pie too but I doubt I can find one of those out here.
Last night my Mom kicked me out due to the snow that was falling. It was the first snow of the year. Being from Texas my Mom was concerned about my ability to drive safely in the stuff but the roads were pretty good the snows weren't sticking until i got pretty close to the house and then it became a fun drive. The most "fun" being trying to get the car in the garage without hitting the wall or my dad's car. The driveway was covered in about an inch or two of snow and it is quite the slop up to get in. SO I left the car in the driveway till t he snows stopped at which time they melted and I could pull in safely. Luckily it is not below freezing right now so the snows did not stick so I should be able to go see my Mom this morning with clear roads.
Snow is sooooo pretty but SOOOOOO messy!
Hope everyone had a Great Thanksgiving!
