I got tagged by texasblu so I am going to respond to them. I may not get both done tonight but will at least get one done.
The first one Eight random things
Here are the rules
1. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts
2. Players start with 8 random facts/ habits about themselves
3. People who are tagged need to write there own blog and need to post their 8 things and these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to chose 8 people to get tagged and list their names don't forget to leave them a comment telling them to read your blog.
Now on rule four we will have to see if I can come up with eight people I have maybe two blogging friends that texasblu doesn't have so I guess email friends will have to do.
Eight random things about me...
1. I am addicted to food network shows all of them but most especially iron chef America, good eats, glutton for punishment, and ace of cakes.
2. My favorite books are all of the Work and the Glory series by Gerald Lund. I literally have some of them almost completely memorized from reading them so many times.
3. I have always wanted to be a Mom, I am not yet but it is still my greatest desire in life.
4. I love to drive, good thing since I live in Texas :)
5. I love to sweat. How unlady-like of me! But I do! But only when it is during something like working out or being outside for a hike, a walk or something like that. I do NOT like to sweat just to sweat or during an event of non-sporting nature.
6. Next to being a Mom I have always wanted to speak in public for a living. I love to speak to groups of people but one on one scares the daylights out of me.
7. I want to go on another mission. Would prefer it to be with my husband but I am going to go the next time I get the opportunity to do so.
8. I cried when I heard Andy Gibb died and then when I heard Steve Irwin died and those are the only celebrity deaths I have ever cried over.

1. What is your favorite Bible verse?
Tough one but I really like Galatians but my current favorite is in Proverbs 3:5-8

2. What season of the year is your favorite? Why? Baseball season! :) Azure blue skies, perfect temps ( OK maybe only for spring training and post season if you don't like to sweat but see tag above) and it is baseball season really need I explain that!?!
3. Do you think homeschooling will continue to grow?
since I have considered doing so if I ever have children...yes I think it will.
4. List 4 people who have most influenced your life
Just four?
The Savior, of course
the remaining three are tough to pin down but...
my best friends in high school because they were/are true friends
strangely...Parley P Pratt, i have never met him never will in this life as he died long before I was even here but man his testimony and life have greatly impacted and influenced my life.
there are about a million others who have influenced my life greatly... my adopted Texas family, various Bishops, the wonderful people at the temple on Tuesday nights
5. What is your favorite non Biblical Quote? tough one but I guess...hmm..nope can't pin that one down too many but one I like to say is 6 of one half dozen of the other!
6. Silk, satin, or cotton? satin if the smooth side can be on my skin and not out to the world, otherwise soft cotton.
7. If you like chocolate, what is your favorite? any GOOD dark chocolate like dove, Godiva, or Belgian
8. If you could sit at dinner with five people who would they be? Parley P Pratt, Joseph and Hyrum Smith, texasblu and redbeard ( I miss you guys so much)
9. Who is your favorite author? depends on the type of book. For fun fiction non church it would be Dean Koontz, for poetry I agree with texasblu Robert Frost, for church fiction Gerald Lund. I also love Shakespeare, and Dickens

7 weird things about me
OK I was tagged about 4 or 5 days ago sorry it has taken so long to respond texasblu! So here goes!
7 weird things about me:
hmm just 7 eh?
1. I would love it if life were a musical. I mean that everyone went around dancing and singing all the time everywhere. I can't really sing but I love to so I do put alot to music in my head and occassionally get caught singing or dancing my way through life.
2.I make up math problems to stay awake and alert during long drives. I actually enjoy math enough to make up story problems and solve in my head!
3. I love seafood but will not eat an oyster or clam because I played one in my second grade production of alice in wonderland and got eaten was sooooo traumatised by that I never ate another bi-valve even though prior to the play I loved them!
those three aren't weird enough? oh ok heres more weirdness for ya!
4. I am actually considering going on a 26.2 mile march through the desert near Alamogordo for the Bataan Memorial death march next year
5. I can listen to bach or motzart and the next song be listening to def leppard, barry manilow, or toby keith and enjoy it all!
6. I don't want a diamond engagement ring. I want an emeralde or maybe a saphire. diamonds are normal I am not and I just don't like diamond solitiares. At this point in time this doesn't really matter but those around me think it is strange.
7. I enjoy things like the ballet as much as i enjoy the rodeo ( I have watched both on late night tv with equal interest and enjoyment).
Weird enough for ya? I am supposed to tag others but most of the other bloggers I know have been tagged already so I guess CeCe if you want to go for it!

What were you doing 10 years ago?
wandering aimlessly through life as a young single adult, trying to get through college but hating my major and deciding to change it because I did not want to spend my time doing something I hated and working in a daycare holding babies all day. :) and with Richard Simmons dealing meas and sweating to disco sweat I miss that tape wish I had a dvd of it
What were you doing 1 year ago?
Wandering aimlessly through life as a single adult in a family ward ( note young is gone now), starting to investigate having weight lose surgery done while giving one more try to a weight loss program
and working with plants in a retail nursery
Five snacks you enjoy:Well, post surgery these are few and far between but here goes!
1) fruits and veggies really always have loved them
2) CHOCOLATE
3) ICE CREAM
4) salty and sweet things together like popcorn with M&M's or junior mints in with it YUM!
5) CHOCOLATE any form just about but good fudge like you can get in Nauvoo makes my mouth water!
Five songs to which you know all the lyrics:1) Sound of Music sound track
2) if I could speak italian.... Il Divo's Ancora album (just ask pinkie :) )
3) Most Neil Diamond but definitly Sweet Caroline
4) Barry Manilow Copacabana but most of the rest of his as well
5) Cheese burger in paradise Jimmy Buffet
6) 2 out of 3 aint bad Meatloaf
7) when the sun goes down Kenny Chesney
Five things you would do if you were a millionaire: **disclaimer here I am single no kids so I am gonna be a wee bit wordly and selfish here but I would do many philathropic things as well and bring my friends along with me to much of this list**
1) Travel church history tour
2) Travel Europe, mostly the UK, Greece and France I loved those when I went with my family as a child!
3) Have season tickets to Astros, Texans, Houston Symphony and the Houston Livestock show and Rodeo
4) Travel to New York and London to see stage productions on a regular basis
5) Go on cruises to Alaska, Panama, Greek Islands
Five bad habits:1) Potty mouth at times and while I work on it all the time sometimes I just forget to
2) Tearing and biting my nails and picking at my nail beds
3) I'm sorry for everything even things that just aren't my fault or something I had anything to do with
4) I tend to procrastinate.
5) I'm a perfectionist.
Five things you like doing:
1) Dancing get to go to SA dances at my church almost every weekend
2) Walking as evidanced by the fact that I am in training to walk in a half marathon in Jan 07 to think a year ago there would have been NO WAY for me to even complete a 5k much less a 13.1 miles half marathon!
3) Watching movies at home or in a theatre it matters not
4) Reading and writing don't do either as much as I would like to.
5) Making new friends though the first steps to that SCARE me to DEATH!
Five things you would never wear again:
28's and 26's and soon 3x's and 2x's!
then there was that Members Only jacket! LOL!
Five favorite toys:I am assuming these are MY favorite toys...
1) Computer
2) I loved barbie and gi joe as a child and can still get into them with the right kids around me!
3) My kaliedscope that was a gift from one of my sisters
4) Uno and Phase 10
5) Just about any board game but especially monopoly
Five favorite books:1) The Giving Tree
2) The Giver
3) A wrinkle in Time
seems I like the ones people like to try to ban lol
4) The Work and The Glory series by Gerald Lund
5) Jesus The Christ by Talmage
6) the Iliad and the Odessy by Homer
