Spring is here! You know how I know? The Astros are in Florida getting ready for the season, plants are on my porch hoping I pay enough attention to them to keep them alive to bear fruit, the sky is blue, and we keep going from 80 for highs to 34 for lows. Got to love spring in south east Texas!
So last Monday after the puppy party it was a gorgeous day so CP and I went and bought tomato and a couple of pepper plants to start his garden. A week later they are looking nice. The romas have blooms on them and the big Boy and beef tomatoes are growing nicely. The Compost we made during the summer and fall is black gold. Awesome stuff. We still need to get the marigolds in for insect protection, a few herbs he wants to grow and a few more pepper plants. He wanted to get the pepper plants even though it is still a tad early for them so we got two but will get a couple more most likely. That all said the plants look healthy and I think he will have a nice harvest.
I had bought a strawberry plant to put in my topsy turvy planter but it got eaten by Carrie today. I am watching and playing with CP's pups today as he has a long day at work and this way they don't have to be all alone. So anyway I left, with my balcony door open, to go do laundry when I came back they ( I really believe it was Carrie) had decided to eat it. I rescued it we shall see if it survives. I now close the balcony door when leaving them alone in the apartment.
