Well, work yesterday was loaded! or should I say CP was loaded down with ammunition? See for his birthday a few months ago we all got together and got him 450 water balloons. We knew who would be targets so we also got ourselves water guns for defense. However the water guns have long since broken or disappeared. There are still many water balloons left. Not as many this morning as yesterday but still many remain. Somehow for whatever reason i have only been the target once and even then it was so off target to make one believe it wasn't meant to be a direct hit. Yesterday that all changed. CP had great fun in weaving the water balloons through the narrow passage created by the ovens, shelving units and such on the way to where I spend much of my time the dishwasher. Not all ten balloons were thrown at me there but a bunch of them were. Yup I said ten! He got me good a few times. Once the balloon exploded at my side and totally drenched the back of my pants. Most of the time I was pretty protect by my vinyl apron so didn't get overly wet but that one got me very wet! I wish there were pictures of my reaction to getting hit especially that time but alas there aren't. Now I didn't just take it with a grin (though I was grinning) I plotted my revenge and patiently waited till it was time. I did throw one balloon at him but that wasn't my revenge that was opportunity so I took it. I shall lose a bit of my "innocence" here but it is too good to not tell. Now a bit of background...having worked in daycare I had done many sensory play things with the kids including whipping cream. For fun one day decided to put whipping cream into some balloons for the kids to squish and play with...in doing so learned that one must be very careful in tying off the balloons or they explode! So miss innocent I say to CP I would have thought you would have moved on from just water in the balloons by now... he admits to having thought of coffee but it would stain or syrup but way too sticky... I say I was thinking whipping cream ( now I know pretty well he would have to try...insert evil laugh...) Of course he does and I wish I had been ready with my camera but that just couldn't be or he might have suspected something but as he is tying off the balloon it explodes! All over! Got him good, and Fillet Mignon a bit as well the floor ( small price for me to pay to have to clean up the mess on the floor. I am glad it worked out the way it did. I mean the possibility existed that he would have managed to get it tied off and thrown at someone but he didn't and it was sweet!
Also yesterday he did this...

That is my dishwasher totally over come with suds because he put a nearly empty bottle of dish soap in it. I actually caught him doing it but he covered well. When I asked what he was doing to my machine he made up some line about our maintenance guy being there and wanting to get him to get the piece for the side so we don't have as much spit coming out onto the floor. Yes I am gullible I bought it mainly because we had discussed it in the past. So a little while later when I send a rack of dishes through my machine explodes with suds EVERYWHERE! I yell What did you do to my machine!??? he tries to maintain his innocence but doesn't quite manage it.. It was good. took about 30-45 minutes to get it cleaned up but man was my machine squeaky clean! One bit though he ( and I ) were lucky if I had waited to send that rack through for even 10 or 15 minutes more I would have been in a heap of trouble because all of sudden just as I finish cleaning it up we go from a slow day ( hence the playing) to WOW! and I spent much of the rest of the afternoon whacking back at the weeds. Didn't get in the weeds really but man they were beating at my door. If I had waited for a truly full rack to send through I would have been in trouble!
The usual target for CP is the nameless one, the one that closes most night the one I just can't figure out a nickname for. I have tried on several for him and the one the I like best is jelly bean don't know why but it kind of fits. So till something better comes along jelly bean it is. CP loves to pick on jb because jb is soooo very laid back he truly is the younger brother for us all. so also yesterday CP did this....

We have fun. Those pictures that float around out there saying this is what chefs do when bored? the ones of food animals? That is what chefs do for parties not when they are bored. that is work. It may be satisfying work but it is work and at least for the chefs I know that is not what they do when bored. The ones I know do create food items at times when bored but it is more of a what can I try to fry today or what kind of quasadilla ( someone out there mustknow how to spell this right help) extreme can I make or just how how HOT can I make this? kind of thing. Those are fun times in the kitchen too.

K lol! You all have way too much fun. However, I think it's the food industry that breeds this kind of practical joker environment. Remember me telling you about my old boss at the Anchor Grill at the Walden Marina? We were always playing jokes on each other. One of my most favorite jobs, very laid back, and I got to be near the water all the time :)
Looks like good times. :) I'm in between batches, so not a lot of time for commeting. But I did read and I do love you. ;)
oh - ps - I fixed the "Perfect Day" problem. ;)
