New Job
Been a while since I have written on here. Personally I was just letting the pictures say it all...plus I have been really busy getting settled back in Texas and finding a job. I found one I love! It is so laid back and yet busy at the same time. I have always enjoyed doing customer service type jobs so it came as a surprise how nice I find NOT being involved with the customer service aspect of things to be. What is doubly nice is that I am also not involved in the Human Resource side of the company either. I get to go in do my job and leave. I am not concerned about anyone else doing their job or what the consumer is thinking about my job performance. I am working as a dishwasher at a golf club and it is awesome! I get at least 40 hours a week, paid pretty well ( more than ever in daycare and b/c where it is I am working more than most dishwashers out there), in about 80 days I will be eligible for benefits including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, and a 401k plan. I will have the same benefits as the president of the company. I doubt I will do the life insurance but I will be doing the rest. It is so exciting to have a job I love that also has benefits. Come fall I will still be able to go to school. Because of my schedule I will be able to continue to work full time and take classes too. The chefs are really cool guys as are some of the waitstaff, so far I spend more time with the chefs so don't really know the waitstaff too well. An added unforeseen benefit is that the job is an upper body workout. I may not need to have surgery on my flabby arms after a few months working here. I work my bi and triceps all day long. Not to mention my deltoids, pectoralis, and back muscles ( too many of them to name). Now I guess the question is do I see myself still as a dishwasher 5 years from now? Maybe it depends but hopefully by that time I have finished school and can move on to something different but if not...probably will be here till I finish school. It will be so nice to have medical insurance again. I always kind of acted like it didn't really bother me not to have it but I guess I missed it more than I let on. And to be able to contribute to a 401k...WOW!! plus they also do direct deposit of paychecks which I love! I find it sooo amazing that I have a job I love as a dishwasher.
