Doctors visit and rambling notes

Time to update on the lap band...I saw my surgeon on Friday and it came as no surprise that I gained three pounds. With my Dad's passing I went on this surreal food journey eating all these things because my Dad liked them. Mostly it was Blue Bell ice cream but it was also having little snacky things in the evening (I can't figure out how to spell hor'dourves and spell check is giving me no help) but mostly it was the ice cream. Full blown non sugar free non fat reduced ice cream is really yummy :) BUT it is back off my diet. Mourning is a weird thing. I have done things not just eaten things that i either hadn't done in years or just because it was something I remember Dad doing. Like watching Wheel of Fortune I have not watched except when visiting my parents but I watched it several times right after I found out kind of in memory of Dad.
Anyhow, back to lap band stuff... I was given more of a fill so now I am back up to 2.6ml. I am definitely feeling the restriction again. I am able to only eat about 4-6 oz at any given time and I have to be careful with chicken though I can still eat it as long as it is very moist and I eat it slowly, very slowly.
I have kicked my half marathon training into high gear there is just less than 15 weeks to go so time for the intensity to increase and to get the speed down. Which the increased intensity should help me to get the weight off I gained and then some very quickly. In fact, I have already lost one pound since Friday. Have started walking with my friend at the outlet mall again. I am amazed at how much I miss that when we don't get to go. I mean it isn't like we don't see each other except for walking, I mean we work together. BUT it seems we have the best conversations while walking.
Church today was really very good. I got up and gave my testimony basically talking about the last 6 months of my life and the challenges I have had and seeing the hand of The Lord through it all. In Sunday School we talked about baptism and how to keep retain reclaim the cleanness it brings. We also discussed faith, grace and justification. It was a very good lesson. In relief society the lesson was on Eternal families which could have been bad for me but was OK. The teacher did a really awesome job with it. I know that lessons like that shouldn't bug me but sometimes they really do bother me and it really depends on the spin the teacher takes with it and this time she did a great job. I was in the right frame of mind I guess too.
Went to a party this evening for a lady that has the same birthday as me she put on quite the spread for everyone. home made biscuits, really yummy chicken, cornbread dressing, greens ( for any northerners that would be collard greens cooked with bacon yummy!), banana pudding, watermelon, cake, mac and cheese, baked beans and I know I forgetting some things but you get the picture -- food to feed and army and a football team! Not to worry I did not even taste all of it. I just picked a few items and ate a little and no cake. Tomorrow night we are going out after FHE to eat Mexican food. To celebrate both birthdays on the actual birthday.
