Doctors Update

Yup! It happened! I gained weight during my three weeks of no fill. 12 pounds in fact! But it was actually to be expected. I gained mainly due to the amount I was able to eat and not due to the choices I made. NOT that I didn't eat pizza, or make a really tasty sandwich but mostly I ate raw veggies, chicken ( I discovered it really wasn't as good as I remembered it being, won't miss it as much when I can't eat it again). It wasn't the foods but the amounts I was able to eat and that fact that my exercise decreased a bit at the same time due to weather issues. I mean I walk in the rain but not when it is raining sheep and cows! I was hoping for a less than 10 pound gain but really glad it wasn't a 15+ gain. So this also shows why removing the band when I get to goal is not something I will do and why doctors really don't want to. The band is a tool and can be used for the rest of my life to help me not just lose the weight but maintain it when it is gone.
So at my appointment my surgeon put back in 2cc's but when he removed it to see what was there discovered there was 2.8 in there meaning that while he had removed 3.8 there had actually been 4.6 in there WAY too much. he backed it off and left me with 2.2 in my band. I see him again in 2 weeks to see how the weight loss is tracking and put a little more in depending on the loss. I am hoping to have lost about 5 pounds by then.
It was interesting during the three weeks to see all the foods I could eat again, I really didn't realise how restricted my diet had become. I think because I was losing them one at a time it just didn't seem like it was so bad. But now I know that I really missed certain foods that I shouldn't have been missing. Like fruit and all raw veggies. Some veggies are too fibrous to eat like celery but most should be edible. This time I will know to keep raw veggies in my list of edible foods. AND most importantly I will recognise when something is dropping from my list.
The people I work with when I told them I had gained weight were like where did you put it? but the thing is when they (the skinny people) gain 12 pounds it does tend to show more I have all kinds of hiding places.
It has been a nice sensation to feel restriction again. And while feeling hungry was nice I like feeling full faster better :)
So back on the losing train again THIS time without the reflux train!
Oh and when my fill gets back up to 3 he wants to do another barium swallow to check and make sure everything is good.
Hope everyone has a great labor day weekend.
PS check out previous post I finished it got my favorite bible verse in there :)
