remodeling

Well, maybe not remodeling totally but... I have started the process of painting my bathrooms. I finally got the stuff and starting stripping the wallpaper off my bathroom walls. I will get pictures up of the before soon and of course when done the after shots. Why is this of importance and does it have anything to do with the lap band or my journey to true beauty? Yes it does!
Before surgery I would have never thought myself capable of doing this at all much less on my own. Weird that the journey to losing 136 pounds and all the changes in me that means includes confidence in home decor. I have always disliked the wallpaper in my bathrooms but never would have thought to remove it I was just putting up with it because well that was what was there and obviously was what I was worthy of. But now with the weight loss and counseling I am beginning to think I should be happy in my surroundings. When the four poster bed came into my life I decided that I not only deserved a better bathroom and bedroom paint job I needed one. So now I have started getting rid of the old ugly wall paper so that I can replace it with a beautiful paint job. Kind of feels like the day after surgery no turning back now!
So why today to start? Well I have been really tired and not feeling real good lately so decided to kind of hibernate this weekend. Slept in took care of some home things watched a couple of movies and striped wall paper. Maybe next weekend I will have things ready to prime and paint. I have a some plans for Friday night ( going to see Harry Conick Jr) but otherwise think my weekend is free. If I have things looking pretty good maybe I will get some people to come help me but it is small spaces to paint so maybe not...though it would be more fun to at least have someone here to talk to while I do the painting. I do have a couple of holes to repair on my dry wall before I prime and paint it so I need to figure out what is needed to do that and get that done this week so I can paint it next weekend. Doing the bathrooms first so I get practice in before I hit the master bedroom. I think I want to do an accent wall in my master bedroom with some sort of faux finish on it. Need to rearrange the furniture in there a bit as well before painting so best to start with the bathrooms.
