Food

Well, I have had some help in over coming my food boredom recently and of all places in restaurants and in the form of texasblu and her many many many money saving recipes!

Faint

Texasblu's help came in the form of recipes for myo ( make your own) white sauce and cream of whatever soups both tasty and much healthier and cheaper than store bought. Plus the added benefit for me of being able to store and use my size portions. Can you imagine the boredom of eating anything that used an entire can of soup in it until it was all gone, when all you eat is 4 or so ounces total per meal. Figured it out once and a casserole would feed me about 12-15 times! that would definitely add to food boredom or waste. Not that I eat much in the way of casseroles but that is just an example of what my food portions are like. Basically I eat two shot glasses of food per meal. But where these myo things help me is in saucing up my foods a bit...smothered fish, shrimp or steak. And who knows one day I may be able to eat chicken again if I am able to sauce it up a bit better than thin sauces do. Any way I am looking forward to making my own and experimenting a bit more with my foods again. Thanks Texasblu!! Thank You

The restaurants helped me be a bit more adventurous. One restaurant, Bennigan's has a new item Buffalo SHRIMP!!! It is an appetizer and YUMMY! I got it and had it for dinner, lunch, shared some with Pinkie, and dinner again! I had been really missing the buffalo sauce but not being able to eat chicken kind of made the wings impossible so when I saw these on the menu I grabbed them! Yummy Somehow even the fact that I got to eat buffalo sauce made me so excited again about food possibilities made me willing to experiment a bit which I think made me open to the things texasblu sent. And then we went to a Thai place for lunch and had a shrimp ginger lovers meal it too was yummy and again just really ignited my taste buds and opened my mind to possible food combinations. It is so nice to be thinking outside of the 5 ingredient box I have been in recently food choice-wise. I actually took something different to work for lunch! I boiled some eggs and made an egg salad at work added it to the tuna fish and cheese wrap ( using the cheese slice as the wrap) and some crackers for a high protein flavour loaded lunch! I have remembered the tapioca and rice puddings I love for snacks and sometimes a late breakfast. And I am on the quest of adding some herbal non caffeine teas to my drink list. i figure if I can clear out my pouch in the mornings with a warm clear liquid I will be able to eat sooner and not be as bored with my drinks. I was given some lemon red tea to try and it was nice. It is a Rooibos tea which means it is high in antioxidants so not only do I get a great flavour but also a health benefit! If any of you have tea ideas let me know as long as it is caffeine free I may just try it!
