Update, life and support

Guess I could have titled this one update - life support! :)
I saw my doctor on Friday and the news was great! 11 pounds gone! Total of 66.5! Needless to say I did not get a fill. I almost did a jig right there on the scale! I really was hoping for 6 to 8 pounds but 11!?!? WOW!! If you look at the tracker the cute little ladybug is over 1/3 of the way down and fast approaching the halfway point!
I joined an online support group for people who have been banded and was excited about communicating with people in the same boat as me just at a different point on the river. I thought it might be good and at times it has been good. I have learned things, gotten some ideas on how I might be able to cook chicken so I can eat it, and been given advice on why I was having problems in the morning with keeping things down. HOWEVER, a lot of the times it ends up being a bunch of insurance questions does dr so and so take this insurance, what about co pay and on and on...I know it is something people need help with but it gets old after 30 or 40 emails! Then there are the doctor or staff bashing days or weeks...those get old real fast! I guess I just need to bite the bullet and go to an actual live support group meeting but it won't be any time soon. I was hoping to go to one this coming Tuesday but I will be out of town for a funeral. The following Tuesday is the 4th so I doubt there will be one that night and then it is the 11th already! So I guess in two weeks I will try a support group meeting.

OK. Started this one on Saturday but was finding it too sad sounding so stopped. I really am very happy with all the sucess I am having with the surgery and all. I guess I just get a wheee bit stressed out and every little thing starts bugging me! But it is all part of the journey so I am leaving it be. One good thing about the funeral I am attending is that I will get to drive to Mississippi which is an 8 hour drive so I will have plenty of time to think and just be. I love driving like that! Another one is I will get to see my brother who I haven't seen in over a year.
Hopefully the trip will have the effect of de-stressing me and helping me figure out some solutions to some of the things that are bugging me.
