Some of you may be wondering why 450 minutes as a walking goal for me. I mean my doctor said at least 30 minutes a day that is just 210 minutes. So why am I going so overboard? Well simply stated 210 minutes is easy for me to achieve and I think goals should make you reach for them at least a tiny bit. But again why more than twice what the doctor's instruction were for? Well, simply stated, because of several things.
First I walk my dog every day for 30-45 minutes, I walk with my friend "JG crazy" (JG for Jeff Gordon my friend is nuts for him!) 4-5 times a week for anywhere from 30-60minutes and I walk during my lunch 2-3 times a week for 20 minutes. You add all that up and you get about 410 minutes so I tacked on a bit extra for stretching purposes. So it is 7 and 1/2 hours as my goal. Plus I am wanting to complete a marathon sometime before the end of my 40th year so I have got to get some endurance up for that and to be able to do some 3/5k walks and races before hand.
And now...drum roll please...did I succeed at getting in 450 minutes this week?

YIPPIE!!!! I did it!!

I think that's great! Accumulated min. huh? Maybe if I got leashes for all the kids... hmmm.. this has potential! lol!
